don't try to be something you're not!

Question: "Recent polls have shown, a fifth of Americans can't locate the U.S. on a world map. Why do you think this is?"

Miss South Carolina, "I personally, believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some people out there in our nation don't have maps. And, uh, I believe that our education like, such as, in South Africa and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere, like, such as. And, I believe that they should... our education over here, in the U.S., should help the U.S., or, or, should help South Africa. It should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future... for our children."

*If anyone gives you a stupid answer to any question simply say, "Stop going all Miss South Carolina on me."

My view is simple: just be yourself and don't try to be something you're not. there's a limit to pretending. And you surely can't memorise everything in a couple of weeks or days, especially knowledge that took others years to master.

One thing I learnt in life is just to admit that you don't know or answer the way you know it and as normal as you would answer it to your friends, but don't try to make it sound smart. Because it backed fired Miss Teen Carolina. You would know the sound of an empty barrel when you hear it, right?!
