Ex-Y&R digital chief takes charge of Rapp Asia

25-Feb-09, 14:00ASIA-PACIFIC - Former regional digital director of Y&R Asia, Mohammed Sirajuddeen (pictured), is moving to CRM agency Rapp Asia in the newly created role of chief executive officer.

Sirajuddeen will consolidate the Rapp network’s resources in the region following the agency’s appointment to a portion of the Hewlett-Packard business won by Omnicom Group. With a digital and advertising background, he is tasked with growing the market presence of the agency in Asia. Rapp is currently strongest in Australia and New Zealand.

Sirajuddeen will be based in Singapore and report directly to John Zeigler, president and CEO of DDB Group Asia-Pacific. “There is an increasing focus on Asia and we see this as an opportunity to take the lead in CRM in this region,” said Zeigler.

“Choosing the right person to lead Rapp in Asia was important to us,” he continued, adding that Sirajuddeen’s goal was to “create one of the strongest, most cohesive direct marketing networks in Asia.”

Sirajuddeen has held roles in Wunderman and Euro RSCG, handling clients such as Citibank, Dell, Ford and Microsoft.

Rapp covers 12 markets in Asia-Pacific. Rapp’s key clients in the region include ExxonMobil, Air France, Canon, McDonald’s, ANZ Bank, Disney and the Financial Times.Rapp’s role in the HP win is believed to involve the global CRM business as well as providing infrastructure for creative work coming out of Goodby Silverstein & Partners in the US.
